“Neurons” 2025

This piece depicts a girl, a smear of white running from the top of the artwork down to the bottom, overlaying her. An outline of the brain can be seen in the foreground through everything else. In the background, there are rough drawings of brain neurons. This piece was a monoprint and then transferred digitally to finish off the piece.

This was an experimental artwork, meant to further explore my understanding of the human brain. The work is also connected to the theme of losing one’s sense of self identity through the apathetic expression of the girl and the white smear, representing a blank stream of consciousness.

“Lost” 2025

This piece showcases a skeletal, specifically of the skull and spine, enlarged and framing the darkness behind. For this piece, I used a black crayola marker.

This piece is meant to depict losing one’s sense of self identity. Through the use of monochromatic colors while having high contrast, the artwork provokes both a hollow and dramatic feeling at the same time. The skeleton is used to represent the feeling of lacking of individuality and purpose.

“Borders” 2025

This piece showcases different parts of a skeleton including the spine, ribcage, skull, and hand. There are also rectangles scattered around the page, overlapping with the skeletons. Some boxes only reveal the outline, some boxes fully cover the art, and some are hidden behind. This piece was made with graphite.

This was an experimental artwork, I explored the different parts of the skeleton for the piece “Lost”. Using the rectangles, the work represents the feeling of rigidity and emptiness that comes with perfectionism.
